Agricultural Project
In Burkina Faso, a country with significant poverty and limited resources, West Africa Initiative is investing in many ways to bring hope and life to thousands. Most recently, we’ve established an agricultural training and farming program that will bring much needed agricultural know-how to local farmers and serve as a regional catalyst to lift thousands out of the cycle of poverty and starvation that is so prevalent in the region.
The first training center and production farm is being developed on 35 acres next to the Lumbilla Lake in Burkina Faso just outside the capital city of Ouagadougou. This site will serve as the headquarters for the agricultural training program with a fully functional production farm where local farmers will be trained in the latest farming techniques and practices. Planning is underway now to expand this program to establish additional regional training centers and production farms, a centralized market, and an initiative to spur new commercial farming throughout the region.
West Africa Initiative is working closely with local government agencies and partnering with experts and organizations in the US, Israel, and Europe to implement this project. With over 80% of the countries population deriving their livelihood from agriculture, this program has the potential to drive economic growth in the region and improve the lives of millions of people.
Please consider partnering with us to bring hope and lasting change to those caught in a cycle of poverty and starvation in Burkina Faso.
