Medical Clinics and Feeding Program
Starvation and disease are a harsh reality for many in the impoverished areas of West Africa. Children in areas of Burkina Faso are some of the most vulnerable — where 1 in 3 will die before the age of ten. The average life span in Burkina Faso is 47 years.
Every year West Africa Initiative is able to distribute thousands of pounds of food and medical supplies to the regions most needy. In 2006 we were able to bring relief to thousands in the drought stricken areas of Niger, Africa. This year we are providing relief to many in the northern and eastern regions of Burkina Faso along with our ongoing program to provide assistance to the orphans, widows, and poor in the central region of Burkina Faso.
We also operate a medical clinic in one of the poorest areas of Burkina Faso. Staffed with a full time doctor and nurse along with volunteers, we provide medical treatment, preventative care counseling, prenatal counseling, and nutritional information.
The need for basic medical treatment and supplies in Burkina Faso and the surrounding areas is great. With your help we can bring relief and hope to the most vulnerable.
