Primary and Secondary Schools

School Programs

The lack of schools and accessibility to those schools in the country of Burkina Faso results in many children growing up without any formal education. As a result, Burkina Faso has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world.

West Africa Initiative supports the operation of seven primary and secondary schools in some of the neediest areas of Burkina Faso. Many of our students are attending school for the first time in their life, some at the age of sixteen and seventeen years old.

School Programs

With the help of our partners, West Africa Initiative is able to provide the facilities, curriculum, teachers, and supplies for these schools. Subjects being taught include French, History, Science, Math, Geography, and Literature. This year about one thousand children will be enrolled in our schools with an average class size of seventy students.

Help us invest in the lives of this nation’s children. For US $10,000 we can build and support one classroom for an entire year! Our next goal is to expand this program to provide a quality education for 5000 children.
